William Anthony Ruiz, 74, went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 14, 2018. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his home in Richmond Hill, GA. Bill, also known as Butch, was born in Savannah, GA on January 8, 1944. He graduated from Groves High School in 1961 and went on to establish three very successful small businesses in his lifetime. He was a commercial insulation contractor in MS before returning to GA and building the Richmond Hill Mini Storage, which he owned and operated for 30 years. He was a lifelong member of Calvary Baptist Temple and attended First Baptist Church of Richmond Hill. Bill was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather who will live forever in our hearts. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony Francis Ruiz and Vivian O. Greene. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Margaret Phillips; two daughters, Michelle Pupa (Steve) of Forest Hill, MD and Terri Jenkins (Mark) of Savannah; five grandchildren, Ashley Willingham (Jonathan), Taylor Jenkins, Hunter Jenkins, Lauren Pupa and Stephen Pupa; two sisters, Gail Humbert (Eddie) of Hardeeville, SC and Debbie Ruiz of Garden City; one half-brother, Charlie Ruiz (Carolyn) of Pooler; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, August 17, 2018 at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel with burial immediately following in Hinesville Cemetery.
