William "Bill" Mobley passed away on Saturday, January 11th, 2025 after an extended illness.
Bill was a native and lifelong resident of Liberty County and a graduate of Bradwell Institute, class of 1960. He served in the United States Army in Vietnam from April 7, 1965, until April 6, 1967. He retired from the Civil Service as a Wheel Mechanic. Bill was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed any and everything outdoors. He enjoyed life to the fullest.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Elwyn "Nubbin" Mobley and Addie Wells Mobley, brother Everette "Bullet" Mobley, and sister Freida Mobley Bradham.
Bill is survived by his sisters, Carolyn (Bob) Wilson, Ann (Jimmy) Rowe, and Anet (Roy) Owens; children, Alsennia (Richard) Strickland, William "Arley" Mobley II, and Jennifer Locke (Robert); grandchildren, Jesse, Marie, Shawn, Haley, and Caleb; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and special friend Wanda Swindell
.Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 17th, 2025 at Carter Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Howard officiating. The family will receive friends starting at 1 p.m. with the service starting at 2 p.m. in the funeral home's chapel.
Burial will immediately follow the service in the Wells Cemetery.
