Wallace Irvin “Gator” Green, Jr., 64, passed away unexpectedly at home Monday, March 16, 2020.
Born in Pontiac, MI, he was a resident of Hinesville, and later Allenhurst, since 1998. A machinist for 20 years, he was also an accomplished welder, and, for the last several years, a semi-truck driver. He attended Liberty Lighthouse Church and was an artist and musician. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wallace Irvin Green, Sr., and daughter, Jennifer Green.
He is survived by his special love, Dixie DePriest; daughter, Alicia Green; son Jeffrey Green; mother, Bev Lisee; brothers, Carl Green, Robert Green, and Ben Carrier; sister, Erika Retzer and Andrea Carrier; six grandchildren, Emma Avery, Jordan, Clayton, Maddilynn, and Sheldon; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be 11 am – 1 pm, Saturday, March 21, 2020, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel, 308 West Oglethorpe Highway, Hinesville, GA. Graveside services will follow at 2 pm at Liberty Cemetery in Jesup.
