Terry Stacey Wheeler, 75, of Hinesville, passed away peacefully on Friday evening February 14, 2025.
Terry was born in Jesup, Georgia on June 26, 1949. He was a 1967 graduate of Bradwell Institute in Hinesville. He was a Lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Hinesville. Over the years he helped his beloved wife, Barbara, serve the church by directing the Nursery together, working on meals for the Bereavement Committee, and hosting activities for the Pairs N Spares Sunday School Class.
Terry held many jobs and titles over the years. He spent over 30 years working as a Construction Project Inspector at the Corps of Engineers. During those years, he also worked in surveying, in real estate, and owned several rental properties. Although this kept him very busy, it was never his priority. He often said to make sure you spend time with your family, and to take care of your family first. He lived every day making sure that his family was happy and knew they were loved. Over the years he continued to be a loving and supportive Daddy and Papa (or Pops) to his children, grandchildren, and his great-granddaughter. He was probably most known for being a jokester - always teasing, telling stories, and scaring everyone anytime he had the chance.
Terry was the son of the late Randall and Faye and lived in the Hinesville area most of his life. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He now joins his true love Barbara, who preceded him in death 4 years ago after 51 years of marriage. He is survived by his daughter Kim Hill (Matt) Richmond Hill, his son Josh Wheeler (Christi) Midway, beloved grandchildren Gage Hill (Kara), Allie Hill, Aidan Wheeler , Ivey Wheeler, Olivia Wheeler, and his great grandchild Charlotte. Sisters Suzette Simpson, Trisha Wheeler, and Sister-in-Law Martha Wheeler. Nieces and nephews Alan Dasher (Deanna), Amy Simpson, Jay Simpson, Steven Simpson, Randy Wheeler, Leslie Wheeler, Kacey Wheeler Howard, Robbie Howard, Mandy Barnhart (Jamie), and Jimbo McCullough (Mary).
