Sara Miller Evans, born on June 22, 1981, in Savannah, Georgia, graced this world with her presence for 43 cherished years. On November 21, 2024, after an incredibly courageous battle, she left us, leaving behind a legacy rooted in love, faith, and compassion.
Sara’s life was a tapestry of significant moments and great achievements. A graduate of Long County High School, Class of 1999, she built upon this foundation with a thriving career as a retail manager at Soma Intimates, where she dedicated 13 years of her life. Her professional journey was driven by her innate kindness and leadership, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the honor of working alongside her. In her personal life, Sara faced health challenges with unwavering strength and grace, becoming a kidney transplant recipient and a beacon of hope to others in similar circumstances. Above all, Sara was most proud of being Greyson’s mother. She often spoke of him as the best thing that ever happened in her life.
Following Christ was something Sara held dear, her faith in Jesus woven throughout her life. Actively involved at The Church at Godley Station for many years and contributing her spirit of encouragement to the Coastal Georgia Walk to Emmaus, she found joy in enriching her community while deepening her love for Jesus.
Those who knew Sara will always remember her for her big, bright brown eyes and an infectious smile that could light up the darkest days. Her encouraging nature and kind, caring heart were gifts she freely shared, echoing the love she held for those around her. An embodiment of faith, love, and unwavering hope, she inspired others with her fierce strength and devotion to her beliefs.
Sara is survived by a loving family who will forever hold her memory close. Her mother, Carol Davidson Collingsworth, and step father, Paul Collingsworth, remember her with deep affection. Her brothers, Christopher Barrington (April), and Timothy Barrington (Heather), along with her cherished son, Greyson Reid Evans, and devoted husband, Phillip Evans, continue her legacy of love. She was loved dearly by her niece Morgan, and nephews Ethan, Mason, and Casen. Those she joins in heaven include her grandparents, Fred Davidson and Jeanette Davidson Pierson, along with Calvin Miller and Nannie Snell Miller, who predeceased her.
Sara will be interred on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at a private family burial ceremony in Hinesville.
Family, friends, and loved ones are invited to honor Sara's life at a Celebration of Life service on December 7th, 2024, at 2:00 pm at The Church at Godley Station in Savannah (Pooler), located at 1601 Benton Blvd, Savannah, GA 31407. Pastors Darren Thomas, John Crosby and Tyler Woodson, will lead the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation and the Coastal Georgia Walk to Emmaus.

Matthew 7:24-25: Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock." May her memory be our guide, and may her spirit continue to fill the hearts she touched.
