Ronald O. Lairamore, Sr.

Retired 1st SGT, Ronald O. Lairamore, 76, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023 at home surrounded by his family. 

He was born in Charleston, AR and lived in Hinesville the past 40 years. He retired from the U.S. Army after 20 plus years of service and then began teaching Jr. ROTC at Windsor Forest High School in Savannah for 15 years. After teaching, he went back to the love of his life, which was horses. He was a lifetime member of the VFW.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Gloria Lairamore; and his daughter, Bianca Fox. 

He is survived by his three sons, Ronald O. Lairamore, Jr. (Beth), Bryon Lairamore (Sherry), and Kyle Lairamore (Suzanne); ten grandchildren; Holly, Bradley, Joshua, Collin, Carlee, Tyler, Cameron, Kaitlyn, Logan, and Jacob; six great-grandchildren, sister, Tanya Pitchford; brother, Greg Harmon; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2024 at Carter Funeral Home. Interment with Military Honors will be held on a later date in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
