Americus

Ronald W. Chambers, age 82, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 10, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family. Affectionately known as Papa, he was a beloved grandfather, husband, father, friend, and peacemaker. Pastor to many over the years, a friend to all, and most importantly, a devoted and loving husband to Rosie for 62 years.

He is survived by his wife, Rosalaine D. Chambers (Rosie), his two children: Ronnie C. Chambers (Connie), Susan E. Crosby (Mike); four grandchildren: Rosanna Leigh Fukunaga (John), Michael Alan Crosby, Jr. (Ashley), Ronald Wilson Chambers, and Abigail Joyce Chambers; five great-grandchildren: John Christopher Fukunaga, Jr., Sophia Rose Fukunaga, Isabella Marie Fukunaga, Georgia Mae Crosby, and Lilly Grace Crosby; and his brother, John Craig Chambers.

Ronald was a graduate of Georgia Southern University, and a native of McIntosh County where he began his work as a Pastor in 1972. For the next 53 years, he and his beloved wife, Rosie, pastored numerous churches, planted churches in south Georgia, Florida, Brazil, and Nicaragua, led team mission trips, and worked for unity among pastors with an unrelenting passion for revival in Savannah, GA.

Papa loved Sunday dinners with his family gathered around the table. He enjoyed the lively conversations of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He loved McIntosh County, his home on the marsh, and quiet moments with his Lord and Savior.
