Richard James McLendon, 71, of Midway, GA, passed away September 16th after a short illness. McLendon was a disabled veteran who served in the Army during the Vietnam war. He loved making all kinds of things out of wood and did an amazing job every time!! He also loved going out fishing whenever he could, and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert J. McLendon and Leona B. McLendon, his biological mother Martha M. Evans, a sister Amber Joy Parnell, and son Jonathan J. Brown. He is survived by his wife of 30 years Rose M. McLendon, son Christopher L. McLendon, daughter Caroline M. Brantley, stepdaughter Jennifer N. McCranie, 12 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A walk-through visitation will be from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 24, 2021, at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel. Memorial services will begin at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel. Social distancing guidelines will be observed and masks are required to be worn inside of the funeral home.
