Raphael Rhymer

In Loving Memory of Raphael Rhymer, 88 years old passed away on Thursday December 1, 2022 at 11PM at Memorial Hospital in Savannah GA.

Raphael Rhymer was born on February 11, 1934 on St Thomas Virgin Islands and grew up with 5 other brothers. He graduated out of Charlotte Amaile HS school in 1959. After which he enlisted into the police academy in St Thomas USVI on October 18, 1959 to pursue his dream to be a police officer to service and protect.

During his time as a Police Officer, he was promoted to Police Corporal on January 22, 1968 and shortly thereafter to Police Sergeant on April 20, 1969. Raphael Rhymer also served as The Supervisor over the Traffic division and was also a Motor Vehicle Accident Investigator. Raphael Rhymer serviced and protected the people and the community of St Thomas Virgins and retired on October 18, 1985 after 26 years of faithful service to the Police corp.

He is survived by his children, Wayne Rhymer, Wilburn Rhymer, Bruce Rhymer, Brian Rhymer, Wesley Rhymer, Joy Rhymer, and Rena Rhymer; sixteen grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. To view the service via Livestream please visit www.facebook.com/cfhbchapel2.
