Polly Ann O'Quinn Shuman

June 2, 1964 — December 4, 2019

Polly Ann O'Quinn Shuman, 55, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at home surrounded by her family.

Our family lost a true treasure. Without a doubt, as Polly peacefully drew her last breath down here surrounded by her family, she took her first Heavenly breath. She was truly like no other. Words could never adequately describe or define what she meant to her family.  She was a daughter, wife, sister, mother, aunt, meme, and friend to so many. Most importantly she was a true woman of God. She walked in faith no matter how rough it got. She never complained about how bad she felt. Instead, she would look up and tell us how blessed she was and how good God had been to her and our family. She LOVED her family like no other and none of us ever walked out of her presence without hearing "I love you".  Her grandkids were her heartstrings and she was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her seventh grandchild, Jasper Brysen. She had a true servant’s heart.  It didn't matter what was going on at home, church or with the family, we never had to look far to find her right in the middle of it all helping in any way possible.  She truly made things happen no matter what!! She was a genuine people person. No one ever had to worry about not fitting in or feeling left out when she was around.  She had a loving spirit that just welcomed and drew people near to her. Her smile, her presence, and her laughter could light up any room. While our hearts are broken, we know she is beholding all of Heaven’s beauty.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ouida O'Quinn. She is survived by her husband, Timothy Shuman; her children, Jason Shuman, Byron Shuman, Joshua Shuman (Kaitlin) and Rachel Haynes (Jade Kirkland); and grandchildren, Payton Shuman, Brayden Haynes, Chayse Haynes, Westlyn Shuman, Heath Helton, and Raegan Helton; brother and sisters, William O'Quinn (Veronica), Vickie Benson (Ralph) and Kim Sarver (Danny); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2019 at Richmond Hill Full Gospel Church. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Church Cemetery in Fleming, GA.

Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Online condolences can be made at www.carterbryanchapel.com.
