Officer Robert D. Clark

Officer Robert D. Clark, 42, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023 in Glennville, GA. 

He was born on June 19, 1981, in Ft. Stewart, GA. Officer Clark led a remarkable life filled with selflessness, bravery, and a commitment to justice.

He worked for the Georgia Department of Corrections. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he had a wide array of interests that brought him joy throughout his life. He had a particular fondness for strategy games that allowed him to exercise his sharp intellect. Additionally, he shared an extraordinary bond with animals; his beloved 17 dogs, 6 cats, chickens, and ducks were his cherished companions.

To those who knew him best, he will be remembered not only for his exceptional professional achievements but also for being a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. His kind spirit brightened the lives of everyone around him. His warm-hearted nature served as an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Officer Clark is survived by his mother, Elizabeth H. Connolly; two brothers, Marvin H. Clark Jr. of Ohio and John M. Clark of Ludowici, GA; four sisters, Deborah Clark of Ludowici, GA, Caroline Walrath of Moultrie, GA, Jeanie Ray of Tifton, GA, and Mary Clark of Ludowici, GA; nephews, Michael Barnett, Maverick Ware, Joey, and Joshua Walrath, and William and Kyle Wood; and nieces, Maggie and Lucy Clark, Abigail and Piper Clark, Elizabeth Barnett, Kayla Justice, Mia, Taylor Groft, and Kendall Ray.

He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin H. Clark and two sisters, Glenda F. Wood and Shirley L. Clark-Groft.

Visitation to honor Officer Robert D. Clark's life will be from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Carter Funeral Home, 308 West Oglethorpe Highway, Hinesville, GA 31313 with a Prayer Vigil beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel. The Funeral Mass will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 6, 2023 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, 399 Woodland Drive, Hinesville, GA 31313. Honors will be rendered following the service.
