Norman Lee Stripling, 79, of Hinesville, Georgia departed this life on Thursday, July 22, 2021 under the care of GHC Hospice. He was born on October 18, 1941 in Moultrie, Georgia, and was the son of the late Louie and Era Stripling.
Norman attended Haines City High School in Haines City, Florida. After graduation, he attended Truett-McConnell University, Georgia Southern University, and the University of Georgia where he received his Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. He began his career as Assistant Principal/coach at Fort Stewart Elementary School, then in the Liberty County School System. He served as Chief Probation Officer for the Atlantic Judicial Circuit for thirty years before retiring in 1999. He was a former president of the Georgia Probation Association. He was a member of Hinesville First United Methodist Church and the A.G. Overman Men’s Bible Class in Hinesville, Georgia.
Norman is survived by his former spouse, Helen Andrews Stripling of Hinesville; daughter, Joy Marie Stripling; three sisters, Bonnie Harper (Bud), Patsy Smart (Gene), and Kathy Ramm (Bill) of Haines City, Florida; and special friends, Dr. Maurice Sweat and C.L. Thomas of Hinesville, Georgia.
