Michael John Cerra

Michael John Cerra, 71, passed away on Friday, May 14, 2021 at home surrounded by his family.

He lived most of his life in Liberty County and was a member of Midway First Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the Vietnam War. He had a successful career at Interstate Paper and retired after 35 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed playing games with his grandchildren.

Mike is survived by his wife of 30 years, Barbara Cerra; two children, Shannon Blizzard (Donald) and Louis Tanner (Jennifer); four grandchildren, Hallie Fenton (Jordan), Max Blizzard, Katie Tanner, and Kelly Tanner; sister, Marlene Linkous (Adam); and several nieces and nephews. Everyone loves their Poppy.

Memorial services will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Midway First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends for one-half hour prior to the service. Burial with Military Honors will follow at 1:00 p.m. in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glenville. Honorary pallbearers will be Louis Tanner, Donald Blizzard, and Mike Vreeland.
