Mary Margaret Dorminey

Mary Margaret Dorminey, 76, passed peacefully on March 21, 2021 at Savannah’s Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 9, 1944 in Eastman, GA to the late Lamar and Lois Giddens. Mary was a proud resident of Macon for many years. There she raised a proud family and worked in various roles with the State of Georgia’s Department of Family & Children’s Services for 30 years until retiring in 2002. She moved to Richmond Hill in 2012 and soon found great friends with whom to share her passion for shopping, dining out, trivia night, and board games. She will always be deeply loved and cherished by her children and grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Dorminey; and sisters, Bobby Stuckey and Edwina Giddens.

She is survived by her son and daughter, Wendy Wright (Arthur) and Adam Dorminey (Kasey); five grandchildren, Morgan Baker (Bradley), Sadie, Katherine, Henry, and Griffin; and two great-grandchildren, Barron and Iris.

A walk-through visitation will be held from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel. Graveside services will follow in Burnt Church Cemetery in Richmond Hill with Reverend Gabe Gill officiating.
