On July 15, 2024, surrounded by his loving family, John Cecil Blanton peacefully passed away at Altamaha Health Center. Throughout his life, he was a proud resident of Wayne County, leaving a positive impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him .Having lived a life filled with hard work, creativity, and love John Cecil Blanton will always be remembered for his dedication to his business and passion for painting. Affectionately known as J.C., he was born on October 31, 1945, in Jesup, GA to Tommy Blanton and Beulah Mae Metts Blanton.

John graduated from Odum High School and went on to become a business owner and respected painter in his community. His artistic talents shone through in every stroke of the brush, leaving behind beautiful works of art that will be by many.

In his free time, John enjoyed watching Nascar races and cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs. He also found solace in taking leisurely walks, appreciating the simple joys of nature around him. One particular memory that stands out is when he asked for a volleyball for the last Father's Day celebration - a reminder of his playful spirit and love for family gatherings.

John is now reunited with his parents, Tommy and Beulah Mae Blanton, as well as his brothers Elbert, Jr "Buddy," Curtis, Arnie, Vernon, sister Mezell Floyd who have passed before him.

He is survived by his children Steve Blanton and Tammy Black, sister Bevy Fennell; 4grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends who will continue to honor his legacy and keep his memory alive through their shared stories and fond remembrances.

John Cecil Blanton's life was a testament to hard work, creativity, and love for family. His warm smile and kind heart will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
