Jeanie Singer

Eugenia Florence Singer (Jeanie), 80, passed away suddenly at home on Friday, February 26, 2021.

Born on March 29, 1940 in Johnson City, NY to the late Varley and Elsie Mott Birtch, Jeanie lived in Walthourville, GA where she worked for several years as a customer greeter at K-Mart and Wal-Mart in Hinesville, GA. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her granddaughters.

Jeanie was preceded in death by her brothers, Varley Birtch and Donald Birtch; and sister, Marian Birtch.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Lloyd Edward Singer; son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Joyce Singer of Kentucky; daughter, Sandra Hanson of Walthourville, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Linda Birtch of Florida; granddaughters, Rebecca Hanson of Hinesville, GA and Latisha Singer of Kentucky; and great-granddaughters, Synthia Herndon, Sarah Herndon, and Jennifer Herndon.

A walk-through visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Graveside services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at Oglethorpe Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverend Deacon Chad Chaffee officiating.  

Social distancing guidelines will be followed, and masks are required to enter the funeral home.
