Janie Elaine Pridgen

Janie Elaine Clark Pridgen, 71, of Richmond Hill, GA passed away on June 3, 2018 at the Ogeechee Area Hospice center in Statesboro, GA. Elaine was born on September 24, 1946 in Bryan County, native of Richmond Hill. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. A daughter of the late Woodrow and Vernice Clark. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her siblings, Jimmy Clark, Frank Clark, Joseph Clark, and David Clark. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, McArthur Pridgen; her daughters, Angela Richardson (Richard), Teresa Smyth (Mike), and Stephanie Abshire (Brandon). Her surviving grandchildren are Jasen Gonzalez, Ethan Richardson, Alex Gonzalez, Jared Richardson, Ashley Clover, Aaron Richardson, and Tyler Abshire; as well as, 3 great- grandchildren and several sisters, brothers, nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel.  Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Bethel Baptist Church with Reverend Brian Cooper officiating. Elaine will lie in state for thirty minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Church Cemetery in Fleming, GA. Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
