Jackie Mederia Stanton

Jackie Mederia Stanton, 83, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021 at her home surrounded by family.

Jackie was born in Liberty County, GA to the late Dennis Jasper and Mary Ellen Todd Wells on April 25, 1938. She lived in Gumbranch, GA for most of her life. Jackie loved her family, flowers, and God's country. 

Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Stanton; sister, Judy Crowley; and two brothers, Allen "Sonny" Wells and Tommy Wells.

She is survived by three children, Missy, Holly, and Mark; grandchildren, Casey Buckner, Tonya Dill, Dustin Tedder, Aprile Ledford, Branden Tedder, Josh Smith, Quinton Smith, Jewel Smith, and Dawson Smith; great-grandchildren, Cameron and Caylee Buckner, Destinee, Daiden, and Addison Tedder, Kross, Jaiden, Gannon, Ryder, and Kynnedie Ledford; and brothers and sisters, Patti Burrows, Linda (William) Richey, Kenny (Mary) Wells, and Danny (Debbie) Wells. 

Pallbearers will be Dustin Tedder, Josh Smith, Quinton Smith, Dawson Smith, Cameron Buckner, Clenton "PeeWee" Wells, and Mike Arnold.

Family will be receiving friends at the home of Missy Zorn, 564 Wells Cemetery Road, Hinesville, GA 31313.

Funeral services will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel with Reverend Tommy Ray officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow in Wells Family Cemetery.
