On Thursday, July 27, 2023, at 4:56 pm our Heavenly Father’s Angel visited Coastal Manor and sealed the lips of our beloved mother Ivy Carryl. Ivy was born March 19, 1935 to the late Eleazar and Hyacinth Calander. Ivy was joined in holy matrimony to the late Thomas Carryl and was preceded in death by a brother Kenrick. Ivy worked as a nurse for the New England Health Care System until her retirement. Upon retiring she relocated to Hinesville, GA. Ivy was a faithful member of St. Stephen Catholic Church where she enjoyed worship services and participated in various auxiliaries. Ivy enjoyed cooking, music, dancing, and being a “jokester”.
Ivy leaves to cherish her memory, children, Michael (Jeune), John, Robert, Horace, and Martin (Wregina); grandchildren, Michael, Jr., Hillary, Felicia, Justin, Jeffery, Horace Jr., Joezarriah, Jaeson, and Jazmin; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Evelyn; a host of nieces and nephews, and other sorrowing relatives and friends. Ivy’s colorful personality and sense of humor will be missed but her legacy will live on through her children and grandchildren.
The family of the late Ivy Carryl acknowledges with sincere appreciation, the comforting messages, floral tributes, and expressions of kindness throughout this time of bereavement. A special THANK YOU to Coastal Manor and Georgia Hospice Care for the care and comfort you provided to Ivy and the Carryl Family.
Visitation will be from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Carter Funeral Home.
