Henry David Greer, a resident of Richmond Hill, Georgia, passed away at his home Thursday, August 30th, after a lengthy illness. He was 78 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Virginia (Satterfield) Greer of Troy, Alabama. He is survived by his loving wife Sally, of 45 years; his devoted sons, Lance (Christy) of Suwanee, GA., Rusty (Marci) of Savannah, GA.; his grandchildren, Jackson and James of Suwannee, GA., Cadence, Landon, and David of Savannah, GA.; brother, Tommy Greer (fiancée, Donna Baird) of Guntersville, AL.; 2 nieces, 1 nephew. He was born in Clay County, AL. He graduated as President of his 1958 class from Bibb County High School, Centreville, AL. He graduated from the University of Alabama in 1962. After graduation, he lived in Canton, AL. and was a water safety patrolman with the State of Alabama. In 1966, he began his career as a US Treasury Agent, with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, retiring in 1997. David was known for his wit and his sense of humor. He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a big Alabama football fan. His most cherished moments were spent with his adoring grandchildren. Known as a gifted storyteller, David was admired and loved by many. He will be missed dearly. There will be a memorial service on September 15, 2018 to celebrate his life at Crowell Bros. Funeral Home and Crematory, 5051 Peachtree Industrial Blvd. Peachtree Corners, GA 30092 (770-448-5757). Meet and Greet 12:30-2:00. Service and celebration at 2:00.
