Glorice Stafford, a cherished mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on September 24, 2024. Glorice was born in Valdosta, Georgia, to Earl Foster and Elizabeth Stafford. Couple of years later, Glorice, her Mom and twin sister moved to Detroit, MI, where her Mother met and married Hubbert Love, who became the loving father that raised her.
Glorice's life was marked by her gentle spirit, her feisty personality, and her profound love for her family and friends.
Glorice earned an Associate degree and dedicated a significant part of her career serving as a fingerprint specialist at a local precinct in Highland Park, Michigan. She also worked as a bookkeeper for her father's bricklayer business and as a server and manager for her Aunt Ann's catering business. Her professionalism reflected her sharp intellect and keen attention to detail, qualities that were also evident in her passion for mathematics.
Beyond her professional achievements, Glorice was known for her caring nature. She had a heart full of compassion, always ready to extend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her warmth and kindness resonated with all who knew her, making a lasting impression on friends and family alike. Glorice had a remarkable sense of humor, she (aka Dot) really enjoyed playing the card game bid whist, loved to tell jokes, and brought laughter to anyone in her presence even on the most difficult days. She also had a deep appreciation for poetry and music of all genres, which showcased her creative spirit.
Glorice was very honorably well known, by all family members and friends, for her openness to make her home a shelter and/or a safe haven to live under her life morals, and guidance. She was catholic by faith, but became a member of St Mark Missionary Baptist church, in Detroit, MI, where she attended with family.
Glorice leaves to cherish her memories on the banks of Jordan, her beloved daughter Bonita Stafford-Heard, son Byron Stafford, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends who will deeply miss her presence and the joy she brought into their lives. Glorice was predeceased by Walter Picket (spouse), Vincent Stafford (beloved son) Imani Mckeithan (great-grandchild), Elizabeth Stafford-Love (mother) Lorice Chambliss (sister) Anthony Chambliss (nephew), and other so dear loved ones.
The legacy of Glorice Stafford will live on through those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her vibrant spirit and nurturing heart have left an indelible mark on the lives she touched, and her memory will be forever cherished by her loving family and friends.
"Mother, Aunt, & Grandmother, Glorice, Rest in harmony peace, In Jesus Name, Amen."
