Elinor Ann Miner Harrison, 91, of Richmond Hill died peacefully at home on Friday, September 28, 2018. She was born in Long County and a lifelong resident of Richmond Hill, a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church, a member of PCCW at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, and Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Elinor graduated from Mount de Sales Academy and St. Josephs Hospital School of Nursing. She celebrated 28 years of service to St. Josephs Hospital. She was a recipient of the Bishop’s Garland Award. She was a woman who carried her burdens with grace and taught her children to do the same. She loved fiercely and always spoke the truth! She shared her independent spirit with family and friends. She enjoyed square dancing, camping, gardening, walking, and baking for others. She was preceded in death by her by her mother, Grace A. Miner; father, William J. Miner; husband, Roland R. Harrison; brothers, Dinky, Jackie and Billy Miner; children, Joe Harrison, Loretta Anderson, and Kevin Harrison. Survivors include her sisters, Miriam M. Free, Alieze M. McGrath; children, Dana Harrison, Mark and Barbara Harrison, Anita Harrison, and Anne Adams-Waters and Barry Waters; grandchildren, Brian Keith and Shona Proman, Lindsey and Ellen Adams, Jason and Brett Jones, Clayton and Heather Jones, Jessica and Chase Pickett, Brittany and Eddie Sitzman, Katherine Adams, Megan and Austin Vauiso, Nicole and Russell Black, Justin Anderson, and Jordan Adams; and 17 great grandchildren. Visitation will be 5-7 pm Monday, October 1, 2018 at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel with a Rosary Prayer Service to begin at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 10:30 am. St. Anne’s Martha-Mary Chapel with burial to follow at Barrett Cemetery in Ludowici, GA.
