Donald "Donny" Gary Branch

Donald G. Branch “Donny”, 62, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Meadows Regional Medical Center after a long illness. Donny was a native of Liberty County. He was a member of Midway United Methodist Church. He graduated from Bradwell Institute in 1974. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed playing music. Donny will also be remembered for following in his father’s footsteps and writing for a long-running and popular fishing column known as Tight Line in the Coastal Courier under the pen name, “Tight Line, Jr.”, keeping up on local fishing news. He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Kitty Branch; and a brother, Bobby Branch. He is survived by his son, Jacob Branch; grandson, Ryder Branch; sister, Ann Branch Ramsey (Allen); nephews, Geoffrey Branch, Lee Branch, Robert Branch, Allen Hall and Rodney Hall; and niece, Leah Hall Martin. The family will receive friends from 3:30 – 4:00 pm with the Celebration of Life beginning at 4:00 pm on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Midway United Methodist Church. Online condolences can be made at www.carterbryanchapel.com.
