Mrs. Chun K. Sin was born on 1929 as an only child in what is today the Republic of South Korea. She married Sa Som Sin in 1947. She experienced the Japanese occupation of Korea through World War II, being forced to learn the Japanese language and lived life as a refugee fleeing the North Korean invasion of South Korea.
She raised six of her own natural-born children, two sons, and four daughters, as well as an adopted daughter. In 1986 she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and later that year she moved to Sacramento, California for two years. She then moved to Tacoma, Washington where she lived for 25 years. She joined the First Korean Baptist Church and was active in assisting street missions helping the homeless. She stayed active with the church after moving to Hinesville, Georgia in 2007.
Mrs. Sin passed from this earth on January 16, 2021 around 11:00 a.m. A note in her handwriting was found which was written some months past and it reads, “I finish my pilgrimage on earth. I’m going to be with Jesus. This is my will for lovely children. Believe in Jesus is my last will. So we meet again in Heaven. Please keep my will.”
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Burial will follow in Oglethorpe Memorial Park Cemetery.
Seating at the service will be limited and masks are required to enter the funeral home. The public is invited to watch the service via Livestream at www.facebook.com/cfhbchapel2.
