Betty Sue Morris Griffin

Betty Sue Morris Griffin, 87, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021 after a short illness.

Betty Sue was born on October 2, 1934 in Brewton, Alabama. She was a graduate of W.S. Neal High School in Brewton. She lived in Hinesville for the past fifty years. She and her husband, Oliver Roy Griffin were married for sixty-seven wonderful years. Betty Sue was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed.

Betty Sue was preceded in death by her parents, James and Nettie Morris; son, Oliver Roy Griffin, Jr.; four sisters, Marie Waters, Ivey Harrison, Faye Pitts, and Kay Weaver; and one brother, Ronnie Morris.

She is survived by her loving husband, Oliver Roy Griffin, Sr.; son and his wife, Kenneth Griffin, Sr., and Marlene; two grandsons, Kenneth Griffin, Jr. and Oliver Roy Griffin, III (Nick); two granddaughters, Haley Griffin and Hunter Griffin; one great-granddaughter, Peyton Chatfield; one great-grandson, Bentley Chatfield; one sister, Bobby Pugh; and two brothers, James Morris and Wayne Morris.

Funeral services will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel with Reverend Wayne Morris officiating. Betty Sue’s family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow in Oglethorpe Memorial Park Cemetery.
