Arthur F. McDonald, 82, passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at home surrounded by his loved ones.
Arthur lived in Long and Liberty County his entire life. He was a faithful member and Deacon of Ludowici First Baptist Church. He retired from the Georgia National Guard and after retirement he worked for several years for Jack Deloach. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bobbie Julia Skipper McDonald; and son, Arthur Leonard McDonald; brother, Dewey McDonald; and two sisters, Sue Nell Cattrell and Lucille Morris.
Arthur is survived by his wife, Pamela Dart McDonald; children, William David McDonald, Sr. (Teresa) and Debra A. McDonald (Brian); step-children, James R. Mehaffey, Jr. and Richard Scott Mehaffey (Rachael); grandchildren, William David McDonald, Jr., Bobbie McDonald, Jay McDonald, Kyle Strick, Bradley Dunn, Michael McDonald, Christy Rockwood, Madison Mehaffey, Sarah Mehaffey, Daniel Dasher, and Parker Mehaffey; sixteen great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 7, 2021 at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Ludowici First Baptist Church. Burial will immediately follow in Allenhurst Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
