James M Norby

Hilton Head James M. Norby, 68, died Monday evening after a long illness. He was a native of Walthourville but has lived in Hilton Head for 44 years. James M. Norby was employed with Sea Pines /Harbor Town Golf Course as superintendent and retired from the ShipYard Golf Course. James was a volunteer fireman at the Hilton Head Fire Department and an avid fisherman. Survivors are his wife Marie Norby of Hilton Head; daughters, Angelia Norby of Beaufort, Lea Anne Norby of Hilton Head; five grandchildren, James Youmans, Nicholas Youmans, Zachary Norby, Jessica Pinckney, Allyson Collins; sister; Ellen Powell Of North Carolina; brothers, Thomas Norby of Hilton Head, Fred Norby and Henry Norby of Midway, Hiram Norby of Franklin North Carolina, Dewitt Norby of Ridgeland SC and Billy Norby of Hardeeville; mother in Law, Virginia Watts of Midway. Visitation will be at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel Wednesday, January 4, 2011 6-8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel Thursday, January 5, 2012 2:00 p.m. with Rev.
