Careth Ann Colby

Allenhurst Careth A. Colby, 69, died Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Memorial Hospital in Savannah. She was a native of Hagerstown, MD and lived in Long County for many years. She retired from the US Army as a Staff Sergeant after 20 years of service. She is a veteran of Desert Storm, Desert Shield, and Vietnam. Survivors include her sons Louis (Sindy) Newcomer of Woodstock, Ga., William (Cindy) Richards Jr. of Glennville, and James (Denise) Richards of Theresa, NY; 5 Grandchildren JoAnna, James M. Jr., Ashlei, Brittany, and Kamy; a special friend Keith Colby of Allenhurst. Visitation will be Sunday, September 9, 2012 from 4-6 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Graveside Service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 10, 2012 at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville with Full Military Honors.
