Hinesville Jerry Douglas Lee, 68, of Hinesville, Ga. passed away peacefully at his residence on December 10, 2012. He resided in Hinesville for over 18 years after he retired from Liberty County. He served in the military; he served as a police officer in Coco Beach, Fla.; he also served as a police officer with Jesup and Richmond Hill, GA. He is survived by one daughter, Lorie Lee (Bill) Goarcke and their two sons Josh and Justin; a brother Edward Lee (Bessie); and several great-nieces and nephews, all of Hinesville, GA. He was an avid hunter and fisher. He was also a gunsmith who owned and operated his own shop, Rebel Gun Works in the Gumbranch area. He enjoyed working on cars and talking with friends. He will be missed greatly by all who knew him. Pallbearers will be Ashley Ray, Mike Maney, Ricky Walker, Northern A. Anderson, James Barry Ray, and Mickey Parker. Graveside Service will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, December 17, 2012 at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville with Military Honors. Rev. Doug Force will be officiating. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Georgia Sheriffs Youth Home P.O. Box 1000 Stockbridge, Ga. 30281.
