Colleen W. Deal

Hinesville Colleen W. Deal, 70, died after a long battle with Parkinsons, Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at home surrounded by her family under the care of Hospice Savannah. She was born in Swainsboro and lived in Liberty County most of her life. She retired from Canoochee EMC after 30 years of service. She was a charter member of Gum Branch Baptist Church and Adult 7 & 10 Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph L."Jack" Deal, Jr.; and parents Jim and Bernice Woods; sister Brenda F. Holland; brother James Darwin Woods. Survived by her children Charles R. Mason of Corpus Christi, Tx., Ronald E. Mason of Ludowici, and Michael L. and Shannon Mason of Hinesville.; 4 step-daughters Janice and Troy O'Neal, Jackie and Don Moody, Joann and Bernard Mummy, and Janine and Chuck Graham all of Hinesville; 2 sisters Linda and Robert (Bud) Shuman of Hinesville and Helen and Dean Todd of Ludowici; 9 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild; several step-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. A special Thank You to Heather Rigdon, Anita Winkles, Kay Myers, Janice O'Neal and their families. Visitation will be Thursday, December 20, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Funeral will be 2:00p.m. Friday at Gum Branch Baptist Church with Rev. David Daus officiating.
