Myrtle Marie Meredith

January 26, 1921 — January 14, 2013

Hinesville Myrtle M. Meredith, 91, died Monday, January 14, 2013 at Coastal Manor in Ludowici. She was born January 26, 1921 in Springfield, IL to the late James Albert and Rose Etta Brooks Burris. In March 1940 she married Lawrence Raymond Meredith in their newly furnished house, living there two years before moving to the Meredith home place near Weldon, IL. Together they farmed the land for 36 years. Upon retiring in 1977, she and her late husband moved to Marthasville, MO. She was a charter member of Living Bread Fellowship and a local Bible Study Group. In 2006 she moved to Hinesville, Ga to live with her daughter. She attended First Baptist Church Hinesville and the Son Shine Sunday School Class. She is also preceded in death by a daughter Regina Sayers and a granddaughter Lisa Marie Carter. Surviving is her daughter, Nila M. Carter of Hinesville, GA; five grandchildren Adlai Sayers (Tina) of Weldon, IL, Ashley Sayers (Kristy) of Stewardson, IL, Andrew Sayers (Katie) of Weldon, IL, Jennifer Carter of Hinesville, GA, and Brian Carter (Debra) of Villa Rica, GA; nine great grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday January 16th from 1-2pm at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel funeral services at 2PM with Pastor Roy Broughman officiating. Burial will be in the St. Paul's United Church of Christ Cemetery in Marthasville, MO. Memorials are requested to the First Baptist Church Hinesville, 220 East Memorial Drive, Hinesville, GA 31313.
