Robert W. Curtis, 73, died Monday, March 18, 2013 at home under the care of Heartland Hospice after a battle with lung cancer. He was a 1963 graduate of Ft. Valley State University. Robert was a State Farm Agent for more than 33 years. Before joining State Farm, Robert served in the Georgia school system as a principal and coach at Jones County High School in Gray, Georgia and Treutlen County in Soperton, Georgia. He is survived by his wife, Sarah (Frink) Curtis; sons, Roberty W., Jr. of Leesburg, VA, Rodney W. of Nashville, TN. and Perryn D. of Huntsville, AL; six grandchildren and one great grandchild; sisters, Frances Marie Harvey, Annette Curtis-Williams, and Brenda Sue Harris; and brothers, Ernest Eugene and William Marvin. Robert will be sorely missed by family and friends. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013 with a memorial service to begin at 7 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel with Georgia State Representative Al Williams speaking. Robert will be lying in state from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 21 at Willis Funeral Home in Dalton, GA. Funeral services will 1:00 p.m. Friday March 22 at Sonoraville Baptist Church in Calhoun, GA with Linton Jordan speaking. Burial will follow in the Tabernacle Baptist Church Cemetery.
