Kimberly Shawn Grugin Webster - Sunbury - Kimberly Shawn Grugin Webster, 58 died Saturday June 22, 2013 peacefully in sleep at her home in Sunbury. Mrs. Webster was born on July 28, 1954 in Fort Campbell, KY. Kimberly grew up around the world with her parents and sister including stays in Peru, Columbia, Fort Benning, GA, Springfield, VA, New York, NY and West Point, NY. She attended Virginia Tech and LSU before graduating from Northwestern State in Louisiana in 1977. In 1976, she married her beloved husband of 37 years and began the adventurous life of an Army wife including stops in Fort Polk (LA), Fort Benning (GA), Fort Carson (CO), Germany, and Fort Stewart (GA). During this time, Kimberly was a loving teacher, mentor, youth group leader, soccer and baseball coach, and leader of multiple Army family and spouse organizations touching the lives of thousands. In 2011, Kimberly and her husband retired after 40 years of military service to build their dream house in Sunbury, GA and finally settle in the one area they considered home. Kimberly was a beloved mother of three and grandmother of six and an active member of multiple local military, church, and other philanthropic groups. She is survived by her husband LTG(R) William G. Webster, Jr. of Sunbury, and her children and their families; her daughter Marleah Domergue, 34, and husband Chris and grandchildren Dominic and Layla of Odenton, MD; her daughter Sarah Johnson, 33, and husband Kris and grandchildren Evelyn and Abigail of Midway, GA; her son CAPT William Webster, 28, and wife Tashina and grandchildren Gabriella and Sadie of Fort Benning, GA; her father COL(R) William Grugin of Sunbury; her sister Robin Grugin Zamory of Jefferson, VA, and her mother Betty predeceases Kimberly. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to Mary Lou Fraser Counseling Society, 203 Mary Lou Dr., Hinesville, Ga 31313; American Cancer Society, 6600 Abercorn St., Suite 206, Savannah, Ga 31405; or Liberty County Humane Shelter, 279 Briarwood Circle, Hinesville, Ga 31313. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Friday, June 28, 2013 at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Fort Stewart Main Chapel.
