Fleming Brenda D. Clark Phillips, 71, died Friday, July 5, 2013 at home surrounded by her family. She lived in Midway all her life and was a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church. She liked to sew, can foods, and to play the piano. She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Charles David Phillips, Sr. Survivors included her children, Brendette Phillips Miles and John of Lilesville, NC, Linda Phillips Parks and Glenn of Shreveport, LA, Charles David Phillips, Jr. and Cynthia of Riceboro and Fred Emory Phillips and Sherri of Midway; brother, Emory S. Clark of Savannah; brother in law, Walter, Herman Phillips, Sr. of Kibbie, GA; sister in law, Ernestine Phillips of Fleming, GA; grandchildren, Hope Miles Shaver and Michael, Faith Miles Faircloth and Brad, Charles Clinton Floyd, and Kylie Ann Phillips; great grandchildren, Mick Shaver, Racheal Shaver, Lee Shaver and Amy Faircloth; step grandchildren, Justin Flowers, Austin Flowers, Adam Tomlinson; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2013 at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. with the Chaplain Steven Lee, Rev. Ricky Rushing, and Rev. John Ryon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Robert Clark, Emory Phillips, Jr., Don Woods, Wayne Browning, Charles Smith, and Phillip McCallar. Honorary Pallbearers will be Diane C. Phillips, Shelia McGinny, Wanda Glosson, Tracy Smith, Ann Smith, Bertha Thacker, Mary Barnett, Ellen Racklay, Penny Flowers, and Brenda Shephard.
