Midway Horace E. Waters, 68, passed from this earth, Monday, August 26, 2013 to be with his beloved wife Jeannie who preceded him in death in 2007. Horace was born to Marcus Duvon Waters and Edith Durrence Waters on October 16, 1944. He retired from the GBI where he served for 34 years as a special agent. He also served 34 years in the Georgia National Guard where he obtained the rank of Colonel. After retirement, Horace established Coastal Polygraph which he operated for several years. Survivors include his sons, Charley Waters (Jodie) and their sons, Duvon Eason and Robert Lane and Chad Waters (Courtney) and their children, Presley Claire and Beckett McCoy all of Millen, GA; two brothers, Terry Waters (Cherrie) of Glennville, GA and Jack Waters (Linda) of Midway, GA; sisters, Joann Bowser (Harry) of Front Royal, VA, Cynthia Boyette (Earl) of Reidsville, GA, and twin sisters, Teresa Perkins (David) and Lisa Oliver both of Claxton, GA; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Nieces Bettina Waters and Tammy Harden served as devoted caregivers. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Carter Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 29, 2013 at First Baptist Church Hinesville with burial to follow at Glennville City Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be the Georgia Peace Officer Association and the Georgia National Guard.
