Hinesville, GA Frances (Fanny) Louise Futch Mobley, 89, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2013, at Coastal Manor Nursing Home. She was born January 16, 1924, having been born at home and raised along the banks of the Canoochee River until her family was forced to leave when the federal government purchased land for what is now Fort Stewart. She attended school there at Taylor's Creek. Her family then moved to Allenhurst, GA., where she completed her schooling in Hinesville in 1940. She married Henry Mobley in 1940 and enjoyed camping and fishing for many years until his death in September of 1976. She enjoyed a happy and full life. She retired from Coastal Utilities, Inc., on April 30, 1990, after 37 years of employment, serving in all capacities of the operation from the beginning of its operation and eventually serving as chief operator. After retirement, she returned to Coastal Utilities on a part-time basis for several years. Throughout her life, she was an honest, caring, and compassionate person, displaying an amazing balance of sincerity, humor, wit, and concern for others. Fanny's whole life was devoted to family and cooking, always giving away anything and everything to all visitors, making sure that she told each and every one jokes that only she could tell. With God as her foundation and integrity as her guide, her family and friends were her focus. Because of the attributes that defined her and the determination she possessed, she taught valuable lessons that earned deep, unwavering love and respect from not only her family, but from all who knew her best. She always displayed an abundance of dignity, grace, and courage during her illness, teaching her family valuable lessons until her very last breath.
