Hinesville, GA Mary Lee Zoucks, 78, died Sunday, September 29, 2013, at Coastal Manor Nursing Home following a long illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Liberty County. She was the Valedictorian of Bradwell Institute Class of 1951, a member of First United Methodist Church of Hinesville, the Bertha Martin Women's Circle, and the Ollie Darsey Sunday School Class. She taught Sunday School for many years and was retired from The Heritage Bank. Mrs. Zoucks was predeceased by her husband, Charles Zoucks; her parents, Rudolph and Bertha Martin; and daughter-in-law, Pat Zoucks. She is survived by a son, Johnny Zoucks of Shellman's Bluff, and a daughter, Darlene (Gary) Goff of Hinesville; sisters Sara Eskew, Jackie (Charles) Shuman, and Ann Bean all of Hinesville, and a brother, Jerry (Julie) Martin of Riceboro; five grandchildren, Jenny, Morgan, Patrick, Richard, and Elizabeth; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at First United Methodist Church of Hinesville with Rev. Dr. Rich Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Hinesville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Clint Durrence, Al Durrence, Jack Shuman, David Bean, Ricky Ullman, and Tyler Cone. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Ollie Darsey Sunday School Class, Bertha Martin Women's Circle and Employees of Coastal Manor Nursing Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to First United Methodist Church of Hinesville or Hinesville Cemetery. Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
