Richmond Hill After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Cheryl Buffington Fox, 64 passed away peacefully on Friday, November 8, 2013 at her beloved Starr Creek home surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Compassionate Care Hospice. Born on May 16, 1949 in Atlanta, GA, Cheryl graduated from Lakeshore High School in Atlanta, GA. She attended West Georgia College and graduated from Georgia State University. On December 8, 1973, Cheryl married Glenn Fox and they resided in Atlanta until 1979. Cheryl worked at the Trust Company Bank while in Atlanta. In 1979, they moved to Richmond Hill, GA where she was a charter member of the Richmond Hill Presbyterian Church. Cheryl's passions in life were her family and her love for dogs and horses, especially her beloved horse, Sassy. She was a wonderful wife, mother, Nana and friend to many. Surviving are husband of 40 years, Glenn Fox of Richmond Hill; one son, Justin Robert Fox and his wife, Tricia of Marietta, GA; one daughter, Meredith Louise Fox of Atlanta, GA; two grandchildren, Harper Anne and Hollis Robert Fox; two sisters, Susan Buffington of Atlanta, GA and Janet Francesconi and her husband, Steve of Marietta, GA; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Richard and Gail Evans of Hinesville, GA; and three nieces. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 11, 2013 at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Richmond Hill Presbyterian Church with burial to follow at Bryan Neck Presbyterian Cemetery.
