Frances Zeigler Dantzler, 99, died Sunday at Coastal Manor Nursing Home. A native of Saluda, SC, she lived in Savannah for over 50 years and was Mrs. Savannah 1957. She was an active member of Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church, a former member of the Savannah Women's Club and Huntington Club. Mrs. Dantzler participated in fashion shows well into her 80's. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, M. Doyle Dantzler. She is survived by one son, Marion D. Dantzler, JR. (Patti), of McKinney, TX; one daughter, Sylvia Findley of Blue Ridge, GA; four grandchildren, E.P. Grayson Godley, Jr., of Merida, Mexico, Clay Godley of Fleming, Kathryn Walden of Hinesville, Jeffrey C. Dantzler of Athens, GA; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be her three grandsons and three great grandsons, Grayson Godley, Cody Walden, and Andrew Walden. Graveside funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2013, in Evergreen Cemetery, St. Augustine, FL, with Reverend Janet Odegaard officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church, Wesley Gardens Fund, 429 Abercorn St, Savannah, GA 31401.
