Ola Trabue

June 14, 1947 — January 9, 2014

Ola Trabue, 66, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah, GA, after a massive stroke. A Memorial Service, with Full Military Honors, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel, 308 West Oglethorpe Boulevard, Hinesville, GA 31313. Born to Frank and Pearline Bryant in Florence, SC, Ola was the third of eleven children. The Bryants relocated to Miami, where Ola spent her childhood and graduated from Mays Senior High School in 1966. She later joined the Job Corps and studied Cosmetology. While living in Chicago, IL, she met and married Harry Trabue. After the birth of their son, Frank Leroy , the Trabues relocated to Miami where Ola began working for the State of Florida's Unemployment Compensation Office in Perrine, FL. In 1982, Ola joined the United States Army. Ola received countless awards, recognitions and medals throughout her military career and retired, having achieved the rank of Sergeant First Class, after twenty one (21) years of service. She moved to Hinesville, GA, in 1992 where she resided with her family. Ola was a very giving, loving and kind person that enjoyed family and friends, cooking, gardening and interior decorating. She was full of life and one of great wisdom. She will truly be missed by all who knew her. Ola was predeceased by her husband, Harry Trabue; father, Reverend Frank Bryant, Sr.; brother, Joseph Bryant; sisters, Anna Bryant Motter and Patricia Bryant Prince; and aunt, Mabelle Davis. She leaves to cherish her memory: her son, Frank Leroy Trabue; mother, Pearline Bryant; brothers, Frank (Barbara) Bryant, Jr. and Samuel (Mary) Bryant; and sisters, Leora Watson, Deborah (James) Brown, Rebecca (John) Gregory, Hazel Bryant, and Annie Bryant; beloved granddaughter, Nadia Trabue; uncle, Isaac Kelly; aunt, Rebecca Greene; sister-in-law, Lilieth Bryant; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
