Ludowici Eutimia Castillo, 89, died Thursday at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah after a short illness. A native of Cuba, she lived in New York City for 35 years before coming to Ludowici in 2007. She attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Hinesville and was retired from C.F. Martin and Co. in Queens, NY. She is survived by her daughter, Fazia Bruno (Israel) of Ludowici; son, Ifassen Castillo of Hinesville; sister, Berta Monier of Miami; five grandchildren, Jessica E. and Mario Puerta, Elizabeth E. Castillo, Christina M. Castillo, Christian G. Bruno; and one great-grandchild, Savannah G. Puerta. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Carter Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 7:30 in the chapel, with Pastor Jaime Perez officiating. A Funeral Mass will be held at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, with interment in St. Michaels Cemetery, in Queens, NY.
