John Giambruno

May 5, 1960 — March 29, 2014

John Lawrence Giambruno, age 53, passed away on March 30, 2014 at home in Richmond Hill, GA after a 3 month battle with lung cancer. John was born May 5, 1960, at Fort Belvoir, VA. He graduated from Southwest DeKalb High School, outside of Atlanta, GA, and earnedreceived a BS in Economics from Georgia State University. In 1991, John moved to West Palm Beach, FL where he began aan 18 year18-year career with Old Dominion Freight Lines, who later relocated him to Savannah, GA. He is survived by his wife Martha (Lindgren) Giambruno, and his 14 year old14-year-old sons, Marcus and Antonio Giambruno. He is also survived by his parents, Lt. Col. (Ret.) John T. Giambruno and Ann M. Giambruno, of Lawrenceville, GA; his sisters, Mary Giambruno, of Decatur, GA; Virginia Peacock and husband Wayne of San Antonio, TX; and Catherine Giambruno, of Stone Mountain, GA; as well as nieces and nephews, extended family, and special lifelong friends. John's steadfast faith, and spiritual strength only confirms he was an instrument of Gods peace that we carry with us wherever we go. May all the angels sing his praises, even as John checkmates his way around heaven. A reception will be held at Carters Funeral Home, Thursday evening, April 24, 2014, 6:00 - 9:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Friday, April 25th, 12 Noon with Fr. Joe Smith officiating. There will be a reception for all at the Church following the mass.
