MSgt Joseph C. Wilson (US Army, Retired), 85, passed away Wednesday at Spanish Oaks Retreat. A native of Cape Girardeau, MO, he lived in Hinesville for 42years. He was a retired Master Sergeant, a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam wars, and a recipient of the Silver Star. He worked for Bendix Corporation in Saudi Arabia for six years, and as a contractor on Fort Stewart for many years. He was a graduate of St. Leo College and was Catholic. He was preceded in death by his wife of twenty-five years, Vivian; his parents John Senne and Ethal Wilson; and a brother, John Senne Wilson, Jr. He is survived by his daughters, Mary Carroll Brown (Ivan) of Forest City, Arkansas, Leilani Wilson of California, and Moira Wells (Mike) of Gum Branch; a son, Senne Wilson of Memphis, TN; grandchildren, Leslie, Melissa, Amber, and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Kohen and Caylen; and niece, Patricia Wilson Compton (James Whitney) of Marietta. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel, with a Rosary Service at 5:30 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday at Carter Funeral Home.
