Richmond Hill Alan D. Morris, 59, died Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Savannah Hospice House surrounded by his family. He was born in Camp Hill, PA and has lived the past 14 years in Richmond Hill. Alan graduated Magna Cum Laude May 13, 1978 from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Throughout his life, Alan performed music professionally, most recently with the Sapphire Bullets of Pure Love and the Savannah Jazz Orchestra. He was also known locally as a private music teacher who enjoyed being involved with local band student activities. Alan's other passion was spending time on the water with his family, and he was a member of the Richmond Hill Marine Rescue Squadron. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles D. and Florence A. Morris. Survivors include his wife of twenty-five years, Kimberly L. Morris; two daughters, Emma L. Morris and Addie L. Morris both of Richmond Hill; siblings, Robert A. Morris (Sandra K.) of Mechanicsburg, PA, Virginia K. Brennaman (Kenneth) of Blain, PA, and Paul A. Morris (Sally) of Marietta, GA; father and mother-in-law, W. Neal and Betty H. Cobb of Rabun Gap, GA; brother-in-law, W. Mark Cobb (Mandy) of Ben Salem, PA; sister-in-law, S. Elizabeth Rawlinson (Chuck) of Richmond Hill. A memorial gathering in celebration of Alan's life will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday, August 9, 2014 at the Richmond Hill City Center in J.F. Gregory Park.
