Eloise Strickland Hicks

November 17, 1934 — January 12, 2015

Hinesville Eloise Strickland Hicks, 80, died Monday at Coastal Manor in Ludowici after a long illness. A native of Powellton, West Virginia, she lived in Hinesville for thirty-five years. She was a veteran of the US Air Force, serving from 1953 to 1954. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Charles J. Hicks, Sr., of Hinesville; two daughters, Debe Chavers (Tom) of Marietta and Becky Hicks of Riceboro; three sons, Charles J. "Chuck" Hicks, Jr., of Midway, Jim Hicks (Jackie) of Hinesville and John Hicks (Delilah) of Garden City; brother, Robert Strickland of Zephyrhills, FL; eleven grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 6-7 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2015, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Memorial Service will follow in the chapel at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Gabe Gill officiating.
