Ofelia G. Capapas, 84, died Sunday, March 15, 2015, at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah after a short illness. A native of the Philippines, she was a resident of Ludowici for the past 15 years, and was a retired retail shop owner. She was a member of St. Stephen First Martyr Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Erlinda Greathouse. Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Alfonso Capapas; children, Danilo Capapas (Marietta) of the Philippines, Elmer Capapas (Norminia Del Mundo) of New Jersey, Normita Baluyot (Ricardo) of Ludowici, and Emily Capapas of the Philippines; son-in-law, David Greathouse of Ludowici; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday, March 20, 2015, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 21, 2015, at St. Stephen First Martyr Catholic Church with Father Adam Kasela officiating. Burial will be in Oglethorpe Memorial Park. Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
