Wilbert Norris

Wilbert Norris, 92, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2015, at his home in Midway, Georgia, under the care of Advantage Hospice after a brief illness. Mr. Norris spent most of his life in Alma, relocating to Midway upon his retirement from Hazelhurst Mills where he worked as a diesel mechanic. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Sally Hand Norris; five brothers, Frankie, Woodrow, G.W., Peter and Jimmy; two sisters, Lucille Googe and Florence Dixon. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Mary Inez Norris; sister, Pauline and husband Louie Lewis of Lexington, SC, one daughter, Linda and husband Stacey Jeffcoat of Midway; three grandchildren, Terri and husband Rocky Lee of Alma, Sherri and husband Fred Phillips of Midway, and Tracey Jeffcoat of Midway; three great-grandchildren, DeAnna Keene and Austin and Justin Flowers all of Midway. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 25, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at the home of his daughter Linda Jeffcoat in Midway, GA.
