Charlene Adele Blackman

October 21, 1945 — April 30, 2015

Charlene Blackman, 69, died Thursday, April 30, 2015, at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah after a long illness. A native of Long Island, NY, she was a resident of Hinesville for twenty-nine years and was a member of Victory Assembly of God. She is survived by her husband Sgt. Gerald Blackman (US ARMY, retired) of Hinesville; one son, Peter Dorros, Jr., of St. Louis, MO; three daughters, Kim Fitzpatrick (Ronald) of Lehighton, PA, Sherry Ann Thyben (Mark) of New Port Richey, FL, and Lisa Jones; three sisters, Sherry Ottavio of California, Dawn Kyea and Judy Hicks, both of New York; seven grandchildren; and her two beloved dogs, Radar and Precious. Visitation will be 4-6 pm, Sunday, May 3, 2015, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Funeral Services will be Monday, May 4, 2015, at 1:30 p.m., at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel with Rev. Doug Harn officiating. Burial will follow in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville at 3p.m. Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
