MSGT Robert G. Clark (US Army, retired), "Mr. Bob", 73, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2015, at Savannah Hospice after a short illness. Born in Malone, New York, he was a resident of Hinesville for 38 years. He was a Vietnam War Veteran, Bronze Star recipient, and a member of St. Stephen First Martyr Catholic Church. A mechanic by trade, Mr. Bob loved to fish and garden. He loved animals, as well, and rescued many homeless animals, most of which became family pets. He never ran out of love: He was a wonderful dad, husband, and son. He still called his mother, Maria T. White, every Sunday. Survivors are his wife of 50 years, Lydia Clark of Hinesville; his children, Guy Clark (Janice) of Atlanta, Ernest Clark (Yvonne) of Hinesville, David Clark of Hinesville, and Ann Dilday (John) of Hope Mills, NC; mother, Maria T. White of Saranac Lake, NY; brother, Ernest Clark, Jr. (Helen) of Dahlonega, GA; grandchildren, Robert Grant Clark, Steaphine Bernier, Joshua Clark, Marcus Clark, Nikole Clark, Zachary Dilday, Kayla Clark, Kevin Clark, Ryan Dilday, Lydia Dilday, and Michael Clark; six great-grandchildren, Dante, Bella, Ariel, Aurora, Tage, and Uriah. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday, May 14, 2015, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel, with Prayer Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m., Friday, May 15, 2015, at St. Stephen First Martyr Catholic Church. Burial with full military honors will follow in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville at 1:00 p.m. Father Adam Kasela will officiate. Pallbearers will be the United States Army Honor Guard. Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
