Townsend, GA Elinor Vivian Milikin, 100, passed away Monday, May 18, 2015, in Brunswick, Georgia, under the care of Hospice of the Golden Isles. Born November 4, 1914, in Augusta, Georgia, she was the daughter of Ernest Victor and Margaret Hadden McGahee. She graduated from Augusta College, then the University of Georgia (Class of 1936), and was a newspaper reporter for the Weekly News in Hollywood, Florida, for several years. She then taught school at the John Milledge Elementary School in Augusta for twenty-six years before retiring and moving to McIntosh County in 1980. She was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority at University of Georgia, HART, Inc., in Darien, and South Newport Baptist Church in Townsend. She is survived by her son, David Milikin and his wife, Beth, of Covington, Georgia; grandchildren, Rees A. and Lindsey Milikin of Orlando, Florida, John A. Milikin of Augusta, Georgia, Margaret A. Milikin of Whittier, North Carolina, and Elizabeth M. and Jake Bradley of Nashville, Tennessee; and one great-grandchild, Anna Lee Bradley.
